The Melt Crowd | October 2015

As I mentioned previously, I've been hunting out some new subscription boxes recently, last week I received the Lucky Dip Club (post here) and this week The Melt Crowd October box by Flamingo Candles dropped onto my office desk.

I work in quite a small office and we do love it when the postie brings us packages so we all gathered around to see what was included in this months' box.

As this was my first ever Melt Crowd box, I received a free melt burner in my pack and it came well wrapped in a larger box - I had actually forgotten about this perk so I did get a little confused when it first arrived.

So, included in the October box I received:

Pomegrante & White Fig
Nutmeg & Ginger - Melt Crowd Exclusive
Applecurrant Crumble
Pink Ribbon
Bubblegum
Cranberry, Orange & Cinnamon
Golden Woodlands
Thunderstorm

A mixture of sweet, fresh, festive and childhood memories hit me as soon as I opened the box on this one.  I am super impressed with the fragrances so far but hope to go into them a bit further soon.

I'm a fan of all but one.  I don't really love baked goods in my candles so the Applecurrent Crumble will be rehomed to a friend I'm sure - it's not an pleasant scent at all, just not my cup of tea.

Each melt should last for up to 20 hours, that's 160 hours burn time per box.  The Flamingo Candles Scent Melts cost £2 each, which would make the box contents worth £16 a month but the benefit of The Melt Crowd is you get them all for only £10 INCLUDING postage!!

I made sure to sign up for the October box as I liked how they had teamed up with the Pink Ribbon Foundation to donate £2 from each box to the charity.

Also included in the box is a discount code to be used on other products on their website for the month of October, so if you fancy grabbing some bargain scents this month, you can use code: MCD1750137 and get 20% off your order.

This has been my first venture into the land of Flamingo Candles but I can tell already it won't be the last, especially with Christmas around the corner I can totally see myself taking advantage of the 20% discount and picking up a few more items very soon.

Have you tried anything from Flamingo Candles?  Or do you have any interesting subscription boxes to recommend?

  2. These candles are adorable! Pretty good subscription box, I haven't ever heard of it! These should last you a long time, especially if they've to burn that length of time! Nutmeg&Ginger and Cranberry, Orange & Cinnamon are perfect for this time of year! xx

  3. These look incredible and that's before you even smell them! I really love the sound of some of the smells, especially pomegranate and white fig :) I wish I could have candles/melts in the house, but there's nowhere to put them without my cat sticking his face in it! Maybe when I get shelves up :D x

  7. I absolutely love candles and subscription boxes, so this sounds absolutely perfect for me! Love that they send you a free burner on your first month - that's such a lovely touch! I've got quite a lot of wax melts that I need to use up, but once they're nearly done, I'll definitely be signing up to this! Sounds like you got some great scents this month, shame you weren't a fan of one but out of 8 that's pretty good I think! Great post xx
