Beauty | Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review

KIEHLS MIDNIGHT RECOVERY REVIEW EYELINERFLICKS.COM

A few months ago I had a "beauty bloggers made me buy it" moment and indulged myself with a visit to my local Kiehls store in Belfast City Centre.
On the day I had a full skincare assessment (post here) and decided to treat myself to a few items but the one thing I KNEW that I wanted to buy on the day was the Midnight Recovery Concentrate as I've seen so many bloggers rave about it.

I have combination skin, I suffered from severe acne in my teens and although I'm now in my thirties I still wouldn't say my skin has grown out of it's teenage anger issues!  Add to that dry patches, my addiction to make up and we've got quite the array of problems to contend with.  So I've been on the hunt for some holy grail items to add to my routine to help me out.  I'm getting on a bit these days and I've come to realise that investing in a few more high end products designed for specific issues is a good idea and perhaps it's time to put down the £3 Clean & Clear cleansers.
Midnight Recovery Concentrate is an overnight facial oil that is jam packed with ingredients to help replenish the moisture in your skin.  In there you have Squalane - a signature Kiehl’s ingredient, Lavender Oil and Evening Primrose Oil.  Now, it's no secret that I am NOT a fan of lavender - I'm sure I have ranted about this at least twice on this blog before so I was a little apprehensive about the lavender in this product.

I think I've been able to deal with the lavender ok.  I know if I had to wear a lavender scented product all day then I would have issues, it's just not for me but the scent of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate is subtle and as it's applied before sleep I probably don't notice it so much.

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate works to recover your skins radiance, make your skin smoother and Kiehls claim you'll see healthier, revitalised skin in 28 days - it really is exactly what I have been looking for.  My dull, thirsty skin drinks this stuff up!  It is recommended that you use 2-3 drops on cleansed skin before bed and massage it in but I find myself using around 4 drops easily - perhaps this is because me skin is so dehydrated or it may also be because I just enjoy playing with the little dropper bottle - anyone else LOVE a medicine dropper?!
I'll admit, I had my doubts about this product but the beauty blogger gurus have it - it may be £36.00 for a 30ml bottle which to me did seem a little steep at first and it's only in the last year that I have embraced putting an OIL on my oily combo skin but I can see why this product has been so popular.
Not only does this product make me feel like I'm treating my skin to something luxurious but my skin has really improved since I've added this step into my routine.  My dry patches (TMI?) are a thing of the past and my skin is softer and plumper than ever.
Yes, at £36.00 it may be a touch on the expensive side but I've now been using this product for almost EIGHT months and my bottle is just going on half full - ohh and I actually spilt a fair bit on my carpet too when an over excited dog attacked me one night but still - half full and I've using around double the recommended amount too.
This is one product that really does stand up to the hype.

  3. This does sound awesome. I've been wanting to upgrade my skin care but so worried things will just end up breaking me out! I haven't thought of adding an oil though! x

  4. This was absolutely amazing for me for months but for some bizarre reason it just stopped working! I stopped using it for months and went back to it but still never got those results back, very strange. Still, it's a good option being a lot cheaper than many face oils xx
