The Body Shop Seaweed Range Review by eyelierflicks.com
I've been a regular in The Body Shop for many, many years.

It all started back in the early 90's when I used to pinch my sister's White Musk perfume and think I was a real, proper grown-up.

From there I moved onto their make up, I'll never forget one of my first ever make up purchases; a pale green eyeshadow that when applied over a darker base colour really POPPED and make me feel like the sassiest 12yr old out.

The Body Shop are pro's are producing new and interesting products that we all lap up but sometimes I feel like we forget about the basics.  Those staples, in favour for the newest and most exciting release.  Recently I picked up a few items from their Seaweed range, a range I feel that kinda gets over-looked a lot now.

The Seaweed range is designed to help combination skin as the seaweed helps to control excess oil and mattify while restoring balance.

I was fairly stocked on some other skincare items so only picked up the Pore-Cleansing Exfoliator and the Oil-Balancing Toner from the collection to try out.

The Body Shop Pore-Cleansing Exfoliator - £11.00 for 100ml
It's no secret that I'm a fan of exfoliator products but I have been trying to be a bit more gentle on my skin over the last few years.   I'm more aware these days of over-exfoliating and so I use this product along with my Sensse Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush (post here) to give a gentle but thorough cleanse.

This product is packed with jojoba beads, olive stone and seaweed from Roaring Water Bay, in Ireland(I love local ingredients) to help clarify the skin, refine the pores and give a deep cleanse.   It's designed for combination/ oily skin and as such it is slightly drying so this is certainly a product to stay away from if you suffer from dry skin but I'm more of a combination gal now so love this one.

I've been using this gel-like product around three/ four times a week with the cleansing brush for a nice deep cleanse and follow up with one of my favourite moisturisers before bed to make sure I lock the moisture in and my skin has been responding really well to it.

The Body Shop Oil-Balancing Seaweed Toner - £7.50 for 250mls
Go on, admit it, you don't use a toner, do you?
That's exactly why I bought this product.
I had been using a Kiehl's toner for almost TWO YEARS!!!   Lets just take a moment to think about that, shall we?  I'm saying the same bottle of toner lasted me nearly two years.  As much as I enjoyed using it, I honestly just forgot to tone my skin on the regular.

My name is Gillian and I apologise to my skin, hard.

I figured I'd pick up The Body Shop Oil-Balancing Seaweed Toner as it was only £7.50 and not two years old and I didn't want my face to fall off the next time I toned my skin tbh.

Like all toners, The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Balancing Toner is designed to revive the complexion while rebalancing.  It's alcohol-free and super gentle on the skin.

The product is infused with Algae, cucumber extract and again, the wonderful local, Irish seaweed to purify while balancing.

I'm not going to lie and say that since I've bought this toner that I've been the best skincare addict ever and starting using it everyday, 'cos I'm just never gonna be that person.  But at £7.50 this product is not going to break my bank if it does happen to gather a bit of dust.

However, I'm loving it.  I find it refreshing and great for oil-control.  I mainly use this one on my T-Zone and it's really helping with my oil-slick office face that seems to develop halfway through the working day.

These two products are certainly being replaced when the time comes.

Have you ever tried any of The Body Shop Seaweed range?  Do you have a favourite range from The Body Shop?

  1. I haven't tried any of this range as yet. I'm a huge fan of their cleansing butter and body butters. And lol at the whole musk and eyeshadow that's hilarious x
