Fashion | Fabulous Fashion Teas - Merchant Hotel, Belfast

This weekend saw the return of the Fabulous Fashion Teas event, held in one of Belfast's most luxurious and notorious surroundings - The Merchant Hotel.

The two day event, held on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of September promised to showcase the crème de la crème of the Northern Ireland fashion scene and give us a preview of their Autumn/ Winter 2013 collections.

The fact that this event happened to fall on the same week as my (big bad) 30th birthday meant I had a great reason to take a weekend off work and enjoy being spoilt.  Our ticket not only included a fashion show by one of Northern Ireland's most exciting designers but it also included the following;

A glass of Moët & Chandon Champagne.
Afternoon Tea with finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream, homemade preserves and a selection of delectable Merchant pastries.
Luxury goodie bag.
Entry to the pop-up boutiques of all featured retailers.

And all for only £35p.p

The event was planned out with 5 shows over the weekend so there was time for everyone to attend.  We opted for the last show of the weekend; the Nor-Lisa show, held on Sunday 29th at 5.30pm ....... to give us time to recover from our Saturday night out.

The A/W 2013 collection from Nor-Lisa promised to take inspiration from everything in my dreams; Bold Bright Blues, Sumptuous Silks, Suedes, Velvets, MASQUERADE BALLS and so much more, this really was the one I wanted to spend my evening swooning over.

Below are a few snapshots I managed to take throughout the event.

You'll have to forgive my terrible photography skills but I was too busy chomping down all the goodies and "ooo'ing" over the pieces on the catwalk.
Nor-Lisa's new collection was simply delightful.  Her designs were bright, sleek and luxurious.  The entire room gasped as the last few items were shown.  Gorgeous gowns, fur effect collars and handbags and beautiful prints had me on the edge of my seat.

As part of the Nor-Lisa Fashion show, there were also custom made pieces on show by Aura - Handmade Jewellery, Krystal Love Shoes and Marie-Clare Millinery .  These could all be purchased from the pop up shops that were located in the adjoining rooms and I really could have played with, stared at and admired all the items ALL NIGHT LONG.

Other designers and boutiques featured throughout the weekend included Diamond Dolls, Goddess and Swift, Ruedi Maguire and Edge Emporium and we managed to view some of their collections also located in the pop up shops.  Everything really was beautiful.  I could have spent hours staring at the fabrics and prints.

The food provided was simply delicious:
We were spoilt rotten on the day, the room looked beautiful and the champagne was flowing.  It was all very decadent and a wonderful end to my weekend off.  I simply cannot wait for the next show, I'll certainly be booking my seat early.
