Creating The Perfect Beauty Box With Latest In Beauty

Latest In Beauty Subscription Box
This is a collaborative post with Latest In Beauty*

It's been a fair while since I treated myself to a beauty subscription box, I used to love getting a little surprise parcel each month delivered to my office packed full of treats and new brands to discover.

But over time I ended up with enough mascaras to last me into my 70's and a stack of perfume and haircare samples that just didn't suit me.

Beauty subscription boxes became pretty stale.

When Latest In Beauty recently reached out to me to try out their service and create my very own beauty subscription box I was intrigued.  Latest In Beauty do things a little bit different y'see.

Latest In Beauty give you control over the items you receive each month.

You can choose between 3 different subscription options;

Beauty Novice - 3 products - £9.00 per month
Beauty Enthusiast - 6 products - £15.00 per month
Beauty Guru -  9 products - £18.00 per month

And as a subscriber, you get free delivery too.

If you're not sure you want to subscribe right away, you can buy a one-off box for a little extra (details here) and see how you enjoy the service first.

But as a subscriber, you can cancel at any time as there is no contract so I'd highly recommend signing up as a subscriber for your first month to grab a better bargain.

I got the Beauty Guru Box from Latest In Beauty* which gave me 9 items to choose and I was pretty spoilt for choice with a mixture of high end/ drugstore brands and both full size/ luxury sample size products.  You can use the site navigation to filter the products by category if you're into that i.e Make Up, Skincare, Haircare etc and I was pleased to see no mascaras in sight ;)

My items came well wrapped in tissue paper, along with a roomy make up bag (I believe you get this with your first box) that is going to come in very handy for travel.

For my beauty guru box I picked up the following items;

I've had my eye on the Bubble T Cosmetics brand for a while now, they're available in Superdrug but I had yet to pick anything up so I added these mini summer fruit scented bath bombs, worth £6 into my bag to give me a wee bathtime treat over the next few months.

I recently bought a bottle of the Helen Anderson Limited Edition Impulse body spray 'cos she's a bit of a babe and really enjoyed it so I've grabbed this alternative scent; purple petals & smoky sky to keep in my work handbag for a quick refresh.

The Garnier Moisture Bomb Face Mist Protect & Hydrate with SPF30 is a product I already love and always keep a bottle on my dresser so I was very excited to be able to add this into my cart as part of my subscription as it can cost up to £9.99 in Boots.

A new brand for me, the Merci Handy Dry Shampoo in Namaste.  With my full fringe and bright hair colour, dry shampoo is a must for me and I figured this size would be really handy to throw in my work/ gym bag.  The scent is very delicate and the product doesn't leave a white cast on my hair.

A duo of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes is the perfect party season red.  I've used this Sally Hansen top coat before and it's ideal.  The brushes on these polishes are a great shape for neat application and they're long lasting even on my clumsy girl hands.

These last four items just completely converted me to subscription boxes again and I've since signed up for a Beauty Guru subscription of 9 products a month as the brand/ product choice was just too exciting not to.

I adore the Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment Mask so that one went in my basket right away.  This mask is designed for hair that doesn't grow past a certain length and although I'm not on a mission to grow my hair super long, I want to keep my hair healthy and the key to that is regular trims and conditioning masks.

The Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is one of those cult products that I've wanted to try for so long.  It's a well known fact that I'm a cleanser junkie and this generous deluxe 20g tub is the perfect way to try it out and ideal for my trip to Prague next month, this one is going straight into my suitcase.

The last two have now been living in my everyday make up bag ever since I took these photos.  The full size Rodial Smokey Eye Pen in Black is the perfect, soft black liner to keep my waterline looking as emo as it did back in 2005 and the sample sized Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner in the shade Hush Hush is the ideal orangey nude, the formula is creamy and comfortable and the pencil even has a tiny brush on the end to help with even application, blending and contouring your lips.  I love both of these!

As I said above, I've enjoyed my Latest In Beauty trial so much that I've since signed up for a subscription and have enjoyed picking out the contents of my next box already.  I can't wait for it to arrive and get stuck in.

Have you tried Latest In Beauty yet?

  1. I love this idea as you get to pick and choose exactly what you want! Plus, by the time you get your box, you've probably forgotten what you've picked lol :) xx
