A few months ago in the run up to their long awaiting UK return, I shared 5 of my favourites from Ole Henriksen and the time has come now to add to that list.

I'm still in love with everything Ole Henriksen skincare but their latest release was one I was initially on the fence with.

The Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Face Primer* was released earlier this year and I've been putting it through it's paces for a few months now.

I say I was initially on the fence with this product but really, what I mean is that I've had a bit of a love/ hate relationship with all primers in the past.  But I love this brand so I was excited to see what Ole Henriksen and his wonderful, beautifully formulated products could do with a primer to make my skin even happier.

The Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Face Primer is designed so it can be used in number of different ways and is said to be a mash up between skincare & make-up.

The product is said to "Instantly brighten, improve and extend makeup wear, blur imperfections and hydrate" which really just sounds wonderful, eh?

I'm all for any products that help extend the wear time and performance of my foundation but in the past, many primers have caused me issues i.e pilling, settling into fine lines or breaking down on my skin, causing uneven coverage so I fell into a rut of going without.

This primer was inspired by banana powder, a favourite with many MUAs throughout the years, a product that contains illuminating particles.

I'm very happy to report that this is one primer that will be staying in make up routine.  The formula doesn't settle into my 36yr old laugh lines, it smoothes and gently blurs imperfections while feeling comfortable and refreshing on my skin.

The Vitamin C in the formula helps produce a brightening effect and this is what sealed the deal for me on this product.  I suffer with a pretty dull complexion and the glow from this primer has been helping to fool my skin into thinking it's still summertime.

Since this is a sort of hybrid product, I've been using this primer in a few alternative ways too.

For office days when I want a lighter coverage , I've been mixing the primer in with my foundation for a subtle but long lasting tinted glow.

On no make up days I've been applying SPF then this primer alone as a sort of skin perfector.

Then one of my personal favourites - applied lightly on foundation as a liquid highlight for nights out to give the perfect long lasting glow.

I really enjoy the packaging of this primer, it's in a pump action tube that I find really handy, especially for travel and the price point of £28.00 for 30mls is on par with most other base products that I have in my routine.

So if I reduce the use of my £33 foundation by mixing it in with this primer or even some days, don't wear foundation at all, this product as almost doubles the time a bottle of foundation will last me so I'm all over that!

This primer is part of the "Dullness / Truth" range from Ole Henriksen and I'm already a huge fan of the Banana Bright Eye Cream so I think I'll be investing in the Truth Serum and C-Rush Brightening Moisturiser soon to complete my set.

Do you use a primer in your daily routine?  Have you tried any other Ole Henriksen products?

The Banana Bright Face Primer is available now from Boots online for £28.00 or directly from Ole Henriksen.
